DevSuite 11 Release Notes

ProjectOne

ProjectOne aims to simplify project management via an intuitive interface and project concept.  It incorporates ALM tools to not only track implementation tasks but to provide all stakeholders with a more complete and accurate representation of all project progress.  The user experience is also an important key area that we’ve focused on.  It’s lightweight and the learning curve is much lower than any other ALM product.  Lastly, it features a beta web admin tool to configure workflows and add users to projects, with plans to add additional admin features later this year.  ProjectOne uses the same database as DevSuite so any existing DevSuite customers can just install it right on top.

KloudSync

Kloudsync enables documents to become live!  Any document can potentially use our patented technology, Syncs’, to enable voice and interactive gestures to better communicate and collaborate with the team.  Multiple syncs can be recorded and edited at a later time, essentially, becoming a version control tool on your documents.  Meetings can also be created instantly and syncs can be recorded within to collaborate on one or more documents without the need for a different tool.

New Testing Features

DevTest now offers an Excel-like testing grid for testing teams to manage test cases and run test execution.  The grid provides a visual way for testers to perform their tests and managers to visually track progress much like story boards.   Test cycles and releases can be created on the fly without the need to run the traditional DevTest wizard.  Customers will be happy to hear that environment variables are no longer maintained for each test case, rather they are dynamic and defined at run time.

Collaborative Requirements

Requirements are now more effective with KloudSync.  Attachment documents become live where authors can write less and talk more about the requirement.  Use your voice and interactive gestures to describe any document so teams can understand exactly what is being required.  Attachments are also opened and view in the sync player so teams can not only see and hear the syncs but create meetings instantly.  While inside a collaborative meeting, syncs can be created against whatever documents that are currently being discussed or shared.

Web Administration

The traditional admin client is in the process of transitioning over to the web.  In this release, we have migrated some of the most used features like the user manager, workflow, and setting up fields over to the ProjectOne interface.  Throughout the year, we will be adding more and more administrative functions over to provide a complete web-based admin.
